We primarily perform projects on an hourly basis. We seldom perform projects on a fixed-fee basis. The reason for this is that the majority of software development projects do not have the required detailed user and technical specifications.
Software development projects are not like construction projects where there are physical standards and limitations to adhere to. Since construction projects have physcial standards and limitations detailed design plans can been drawn up to work from.
Software development projects have few standards and limitations. In the digital environment the opportunities are boundless unlike in the physical environment. Software design plans could be seen as vague relaive to construction design plans.
SmartBond, therefore, uses a hourly based fee structure and avoids the large risks associated with fixed-fee projects.
Rather we provide estimates to clients on a project- or task-basis for the purpose of budgeting. The estimates and application requirements help better define the project goals. We work towards these goals using the SmartBond Project Management (PM) system.
By using the PM system, everyone on the project team can see the progress of the application development. So clients can make rational decisions during the course of the project rather than towards the end of the project when it is too late to fix pragmatic issues. Constant communication, information, and review leads to a more pleasant experience and relationship for all parties.
To begin a relationship with SmartBond, all clients go through the SmartBond Client TestLab. At that time you will be requested to setup an account on the SmartBond Project Management system. There is no obligation to work with SmartBond when you setup your company on the SmartBond Project Management system. This allows us to start a line of communication and walk step-by-step in learning if we both want to work with one another.
